Let's learn more about Timothy who was selected as our 3rd quarter Spotlight member. Timothy Benton, also known as TJ, started his career at Jackson Correctional Institution on September 3, 2010, and has remained a dedicated employee of the Florida Department of Corrections. TJ was assigned many different posts over the years to include Motor Pool, Security Threat Groups and Confinement, before he began to promote through the ranks and moved up all the way up to Captain. In his off time, TJ is a dedicated family man, avid hunter, fisherman, and mechanic. He also owns his own lawn business. He became a member of Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency Chapter 21 in June of 2023 and has participated in function after function ever since. He has been very vocal in his support of FCCD and makes it a point to continuously inquire as to what he can do to help. He has been attending our local chapter meetings regularly and has donated to our fundraisers whether it be monetarily or by cooking and baking goodies to help raise money. More recently he baked a Cream Cheese Poundcake and a Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheesecake for a Bake Sale we held at Jackson CI and they were amazing. He also took time out of his busy schedule to assist us with preparing and serving BBQ plates at our Firearms Simulator Training on May 15, 2025. He has been more than willing to assist with carrying around a set of Cornhole Boards we just recently had a Chance to Win with to promote participation and those things were not light. There is nothing we have asked him to do that he hasn’t done willingly and without question. He has remained dedicated to the Chapter and his Future with the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency is very Bright to say the least. |
